Veteran blues and Gospel singer, harmonica player, actor, radio presenter and musicologist Paul Jones has made his first solo album in thirty-seven years. In that time, he has been busy, notably touring with The Blues Band and The Manfreds. He has made many albums; one is a Gospel album with his wife Fiona whom he met when they were both in the stage production of Guys & Dolls. He came into Blues In Britain, en route to a gig in Tamworth with The Manfreds, to talk about the new album, Starting All Over Again. It has contributions from some very talented artists.

Aynsley Lister was about to set off on a tour of Europe with his new line up, so I interviewed him over the phone. His album Equilibrium was made over a period of time at Room With A View Studios. It is his first for the Manhaton label.

Ray Stubbs’ Amazing One Man Band is aptly named. If you have seen him, you will have been impressed, not just by his extraordinary equipment but how good it sounds. Ray has written us an e-letter, which explains how it is done.

I keep getting asked when I will write up my trip on the Legendary Blues Cruise. The fact is I am so busy that I don’t know when I will have time do it. I am off to the Burnley Blues Festival for Easter. Come and introduce yourself, I can never remember names!
